Stephanie Thoma is a Forbes-featured leadership & life coach, certified hypnotherapist, and the best-selling author of a transformational networking book, “Confident Introvert.” She has facilitated over 1,000 events and established a fulfilling career helping people generate meaningful connections with themselves and others that catapult them forward in their career and life.

Whether you’re an introvert, extrovert, or ambivert, you will likely have different skills you bring to the table when it comes to networking. Introverts, in particular, have found traditional networking advice to be hard to follow, and that’s where Stephanie’s advice shines through.

How to Manage Your Energy As An Introvert or Extrovert

  • Whether you are an introvert or an extrovert depends on how you get your energy. Extroverts energize through being with people, while introverts get energy from more solitary situations. Ambiverts have access to both.

  • It’s been said that quarantine has been an introvert’s dream, but we are all dealing with a low level of trauma due to the collective change we’re experiencing. No matter how you get your energy, there is a lot to process right now.

  • We’re also experiencing a lot of “Zoom fatigue” from sitting down all day without excuses to get up and move away from the screen. To break away from that, we need to give ourselves a “solitude sandwich” by giving yourself some moments of movement or screen-free solitude between activities.

  • It’s also a good idea to give yourself a block of solitude at the end of the day before you go to bed to help you process through all of that blue light and get a more restful sleep.
