92. How to Build Up Your Confidence & Find Your Awesome | with Kelsey Abbott

Kelsey Abbott is a Confidence Coach, an Instigator of Joy, and the host of Find Your Awesome. She helps spiritual adventurers remember who they are and why they’re here so that they can uplevel with ease.

In episode 91, I talked about the concept of Woundology and why you need to master yourself before you can make the impact you want to see in the world, and this episode really builds on that conversation. Kelsey just has such a knack for helping others embrace their unique greatness, shed the shoulds, love themselves, and SPARKLE — and she has a story that’s sure to inspire you into action!

How to Get into a Flow State: Kelsey’s Magic Trick

  • We get into a flow state when we’re present and we’re challenged, but we’re not too challenged too much; when we’re neither bored nor frustrated by difficulty.
  • To get into a flow state whenever she wants, Kelsey borrows a trick she learned from competitive swimming: she counts.
  • She isn’t counting to the rhythm or anything like that. She just counts to 8, over and over again. It’s something she’s been doing since she was a kid, so it doesn’t take specific concentration, but it also requires her brain to stay on task. It also doesn’t matter if she makes a mistake.
  • This forces her to be present in her body, and then she can focus on that and carry that feeling forward.

Now, let’s turn this into a conversation!
