132. You Can't Have Gratitude Without Forgiveness

If you’re here in the United States, now is the perfect time to focus on gratitude and what you’re thankful for. Wherever you are, it’s never a bad time to take stock of what you’re grateful for and sit in appreciation for what you have.

While taking time to be thankful for what you have in your life, it’s important to ask ourselves how we can learn to make gratitude a common practice in our everyday lives, not just something we do one day a year. If you’ve been so focused on serving others, you may not have recognized the power of relating gratitude and forgiveness.

Why You Need to Integrate Forgiveness With Gratitude

  • You cannot be fully present if you have yet to let go of the parts of you that no longer align with where you are now. Forgiveness is an act of letting go.
  • If you can learn to be forgiving, gratitude comes naturally.
  • In order to stand in your truth today, you have to let go of the weight of the past and the things that are out of your control. You are always in control of what you believe about it.
  • In a year like the one we’ve had, you cannot fake gratitude without forgiving yourself.
  • When you learn to forgive yourself, your vibration in gratitude is so much higher.
