3 Steps to Transform Money Manipulation into Money Manifesting

Now that I find myself divorced, I seem to be having a lot of conversations with other people who are divorced and I was seeing a common theme amongst the women. Their mindset around money, how they earn and spend it, was manipulated by their partners. Through the years of being with their partner, they started to feel smaller and smaller on their own personal worth because they were married to, what I call, a Money Manipulator. That's when someone's money story is so strong that they make sure their partners believe it too and abide by it, otherwise they will respond with shame, rage, and judgement.

One thing I do know is that you can't change your partners money story, however you can get grounded in yours to make sure you are clear on the abundance meant for you and have the tools in place to check back in if you are starting to question your worth, and your potential of what you can earn.

These conversations have made me reflect on the health of my mindset around money, how I earn it, spend it, invest it - what are my beliefs, why was I able to come out of my divorce with a healthier mindset around money? What could I do to help these divorcees, and others in this manipulation cycle, feel more confident about the abundance they are able to create. So, of course, I had to write about it and share the 3 steps to Transform Money Manipulation into Money Manifesting.

Money is a powerful force, just like Love, it's an energy exchange that deserves respect, space, reciprocation and appreciation. For some, it can be a source of stress, anxiety, and manipulation, while for others, it can be a tool for abundance, freedom, and manifestation. Shifting from money manipulation to money manifesting requires a change in mindset and behavior.

Step 1: Self-Reflection and Awareness

The first step in transforming your relationship with money is self-reflection and self-awareness. It's crucial to understand your current beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors regarding money. Often, we inherit our money mindset from our upbringing, society, or past experiences, which can lead to negative patterns.

Pull out a piece of paper and start to ask and answer the following:

  1. What are my beliefs about money? What did my mom teach me to believe? What did my Dad teach me to believe?
  2. When the topic of money/finances comes up, how do I feel when I think it?
  3. What are my spending habits and financial goals that get me excited? which ones stress me out?
  4.  Do I feel in control of my finances, or do they control me?

Write down your answers and be honest with yourself. This self-reflection will help you identify any harmful money beliefs or behaviors that you need to change. Awareness is the first step towards transformation.

Step 2: Reevaluate Your Money Beliefs

Once you're aware of your money mindset, it's time to reevaluate and reshape your beliefs. Start by challenging any negative or limiting beliefs you may have about money. Some common examples include:

  • "Money is the root of all evil."
  • "I'm not good with money."
  • "I'll never be wealthy."
  • "Money is scarce, and I must hoard it."

Replace these limiting beliefs with empowering ones:

  • "Money is a tool for creating a better life for myself and others."
  • "I have the ability to manage and grow my wealth."
  • "I am open to receiving abundance and opportunities."
  • "Money flows to me easily and effortlessly."

Affirmations can be a powerful tool in reprogramming your subconscious mind. Repeat your chosen affirmations daily to reinforce positive money beliefs.

Step 3: Embrace Abundance Mindset and Take Inspired Action

To manifest money, you must shift from a scarcity mindset to an abundance mindset. An abundance mindset is about believing that there is more than enough for everyone and that opportunities for wealth are endless. It's not just about money; it's a mindset that permeates all aspects of your life.

Here's how you can cultivate an abundance mindset:

  • Practice gratitude: Regularly express gratitude for the money you have, your financial accomplishments, and the opportunities coming your way.
  • Visualize your financial goals: Create a clear mental image of your financial aspirations and see yourself achieving them. This visualization can motivate you to take action.
  • Take inspired action: Manifesting money isn't about sitting idly by and waiting for it to fall into your lap. Take steps toward your financial goals, whether it's investing wisely, starting a side business, or improving your skills.
  • Surround yourself with positive influences: Engage with people who share your financial goals and beliefs. Attend seminars, read books, and listen to podcasts related to financial abundance.

Transforming from money manipulation to money manifesting is a journey that begins with self-awareness, involves reshaping your money beliefs, and ultimately embracing an abundance mindset. My hope is by following these steps, you can change your relationship with money, create financial abundance, and live a more prosperous and fulfilling life. Remember that this transformation takes time and effort, so be patient with yourself as you make progress toward a healthier financial mindset.
